Injury/Sports Injury Management

This is where an injury is assessed for the most suitable treatment approach. Most serious injuries requiring surgical intervention will be dealt with by the A&E department of a hospital. They will include fractures, complete tears of tendons or ligaments or severe bruising and neurological trauma. 

An osteopath will investigate an injury to see if one of the above is present, if found they will refer the patient to their GP or an A&E department of a hospital.

Once an injury has been thoroughly investigated and deemed to be treatable with osteopathy, a suitable treatment approach wlll be carried out. This will include soft tissue manipulation, articulation of the affected area and a suitable exercise program to aid rehabilitation.
